Mirror Mirror

Mirror Mirror
on the wall
am i the fairest
one of all?

I look and look
but cannot see
cos im a vampire
silly me

Haloween

If people want to be frightening,
the worst monster ever seen,
all they need to do i suppose,
is take off their sodding clothes.

Equinox

As days draw themselves
inward, long lines of neatly folded
memories queue,
ready to fill
pockets in hearts.
Breath undressing winds
caress cold idleness,
on thought provoking trees.
Intense palindromic gales
howl illiterate words
through natures empty sheds.
Spilling awkwardly, between
mountainous seasons
and calm sunshine.
Corridors of rain
fall incessantly,
coloring summers
Monet masterpiece
in autumnal Dali dreams

A Curious Dog in the Night

A dog is barking
somewhere, irritatingly
repetitive, inescapable
in the small hours

Its to humid to
close the windows, ill
just lie, me and the bark
in the small hours

Perhaps it will stop,
or sleep will carry
me gently away,
in the small hours

The barking has
increased in intensity,
and has a helplessness
in the small hours

Earplugs don't work,
my brain hunts down
the slightest sound,
in the small hours

The radio helps,
but i still hear
the dog ,between tracks
in the small hours

If i were to kill
the dog, would
i then get some sleep?
in the small hours

Or lock tight
its jaws, with duck
tape and glue,
in the small hours

I could creep
unnoticed and
release the hound,
in the small hours

I wake with a start,
my buzzing alarm,
never a dog nor a bark
in the small hours

Absurd iii

Absurd iii

He wasn't interested in soccer,
the banal banter and songs,

next to his unshaven skin.

Absurd ii

He put on his wife's
favorite pants,
pink,lacy,
gossamer thin.
However, they didnt
fit: with his obsession
for white.

Hospitals

Hospitals smell, as do schools
and hamsters,
not to the same degree,
all in the mind you see.
Its authority and fear,
fear brought on
by not knowing,
like airports,
all trolleys,smiles
waiting rooms,
departures,arrivals,
hello & goodbyes.
Ambulances don't need wings
nor aeroplanes compassion.

First Book !

Hi, Just about to start my first chapbook, busy editing/polishing around 15 poems penned on a recent trip to Fethiye in Turkey

Spring

Sweet air chilled
like a summers drink,
casting slanting sunlit
shadows long.
Slowly sinking
in sharpened air,
a full on throaty
black birds song.

Absences

Your candles
flickering low,
families gathering
whispering
 in back rooms,
tuning out, you are like
an old analogue radio.
Words drowned in the
howling gale,
 jigsaw pieces
no longer fitting,
memories mix with reality
frustrations turn together,
at the interface
love and anger collide,
showering rainfalls
of tears,
for what you once was.
Bone and dust
Bone and dust

Talacre

Where the sky sits so low,
pressing down on my
emotions, allowing the slow
waves to break beyond my
eyeline

A cliff edge of vertigo
where the sky sits so low
my eyes burning into
the lighthouse, below
everything

crumples into sand,
 a cliff edge of vertigo
spins my senses, and
i see only yellow,
everywhere.
